1988 - Seventeen years after the Jackson 5ive cartoon series first aired, Michael was a cartoon again. Michael lent his song, “Beat It” to be used in a Flinstone Kids cartoon special encouraging kids to say no to drugs. The Flintstone Kids’ “Just Say No” Special was a 30-minute television special featuring The Flintstone Kids and produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions which aired on ABC.

In it, little Fred, Barney, Wilma, and Betty work odd jobs to earn enough money for tickets to a Michael Jackstone concert. When Wilma refuses to use marijuana in order to join a “cool crowd”, the Flintstone Kids and their friends start a campaign against drugs while trying to get tickets to a Michael Jackstone concert. They finally make it to the concert and see Michael Jackstone singing new lyrics to “Beat It” about not needing drugs:

Just Say No!

They told the girl
Why don’t you step over here
You wanna be cool
Take a look in here
They wanna do drugs
And they’re words are really clear
So beat it!
You don’t need it!
(Say no!)
You don’t need friends
Doing things that are wrong
There’s lots of kids like you
Who are cool and strong
It might be kinda tough
But you can move along
So beat it!
And say it ain’t fair

Don’t mean it!
Don’t need it!
Just say no to drugs
Defeat it!

Have a life that’s happy
A future that’s bright
You make it happen
Drugs are wrong
And you’re right
Just beat it!
Just beat it!
Say no
And defeat it!
Now Moms and Dads
You ought to listen to me
To be a kid today
It ain’t easy
Just make your home and family
A loving place to be
So beat it!
Send it riding wave!

In the cartoon, Stone Age Michael, voiced by Kipp Lennon, wears one glove and dons sunglasses. He moonwalks, and even grabs his crotch while dancing!

The Flintstone kids need to raise money in order to buy tickets to see Michael Jackstone (obvious reference) in concert. While attempting to raise money from teamwork, some older kids try to push drugs on our young role models. After failing to raise the money, the kids enter a race whose grand prize is tickets to see Jackstone. The older drug users also enter the race, expecting to crush our heroes. The effects of high drug abuse is shown when the Flintstone kids win the race due to the poor health of the drug users.

This was one of a few cartoon shows (another notable includes Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue) in the 80s to show young children that drugs were bad. This was one of the more effective shows because every kid could relate to the story. The desired thought process in kids would be, “I like to win. Drugs will make me slow, meaning I will lose. Hence, drugs will make me into a loser.” While most kids could care less about the message, it seeped its way into their subconscious.

1993 - Michael’s first show in Moscow was at the Lyzhniki Olympic Stadium. Some of the media delighted in reporting that MJ’s concert had not been sold out. What they didn’t point out was that the price of the tickets, at $11, was more than most people in Moscow make in a month. They also failed to mention that despite the ticket prices, that 93% of the seats were sold. Only 7,000 seats remained unsold for the show at the 100,000 seat stadium.

While on his Dangerous tour in Moscow, Russia for his concert there, Michael postpones his flight out of Moscow, instead goes to visit a hospital for mentally challenged children there, who rejoice at seeing him and fight for his attention. Michael holds a few children in his arms and on his lap, comforts and plays with them and wishes to entertain them: “I’d like to sing with them. We all know a song together”, he says, visibly emotional. The singer has asked for one of the children to be flown to America for care and treatment which he will pay for. He also visits children in a nearby orphanage, who will sing a song to him in Russian, turning him – the ultimate performer, into an attentive spectator.

2003 - The entertainer hosts a star-studded charitable event at Neverland Valley Ranch, ticket price at presale being 725 dollars, with proceeds going to the Oneness charitable organization. Guests enjoy a tour of Jackson’s menagerie, amusement rides, various assortments of food and other exciting things. The party subsequent to the event is hosted and broadcast live by ‘KIIS FM’. Jackson briefly addresses the guests in attendance. Prior to his speech, the “Harvest International Children’s Choir”, along with a host of fans and special guests in attendance, join in to chant ‘Happy Birthday’ to their favorite star, whose birth date had been 2 weeks before.

2005 - Michael is at the Dorchester Hotel in London with Grace, Prince, Paris, Blanket, Raymone, attorney Thomas Mesereau & Crown Prince of Bahrain, Prince Abdullah.

It all started with rumors that Michael Jackson would come to London and ended with the dreams of some fans coming true – to see Michael Jackson.

No confirmation regarding Michael Jackson being in London was ever released, but that didn’t stop fans from gathering outside the very expensive Dorchester Hotel. Raymone Bain was spotted there with Grace Rwamba (the nanny of Michael’s children).

But even more interesting are two more people new to the crowd: Atlanta music business attorney Joel Katz and Island/DefJam Records chairman Antonio L.A. Reid. Sources say that Katz has come to represent the Prince in a deal that would fund a record label for Jackson at Island/DefJam’s parent, Universal Music Group.

Not a lot of fans were outside the hotel during the day but as the rumors about Michael being in London seemed to become more and more truthful, the crowd started to grow.

One person, who works at the Dorchester hotel in central London, said to the fans that Michael Jackson was indeed there with his children this week. They also said to the fans that Michael would come out soon and possibly be ready to meet his fans.

Later in the day barriers were built outside the hotel, causing some movement amongst the fans.
More fans arrived and started to gathering where no barrier was in place. People from security tried to keep fans behind the barriers by saying; if fans crossed the barrier they would be arrested.

When Michael wanted to come out to greet his fans, he was mobbed by 100′s of fans and was pushed back inside as soon as he left the hotel.
After Michael managed to leave the hotel, fans went to the Metropolice Record Studio and waited for Michael there. When Michael arrived he got on top of his car allowing everybody to see him. Once again Michael Jackson was mobbed by the crowd of fans.

2008 - A huge comic book collector, Michael brought his three kids for a comic book shopping spree at Golden Apple comic book store on Melrose Avenue (Los Angeles) that resulted in piles of comic purchases.

Halloween comes early as the singer took his three children – Prince Michael, 11, Paris, ten, and Prince Michael II, six – shopping this week dressed as masked Halloween characters.
The family, who are rarely seen in public, browsed a comic book store together after slipping in through a back door. Michael was in a surgical mask, giant black sunglasses and a hooded jumper during the entire outing. But, the children removed their masked once inside the store, giving onlookers a rare glimpse at their faces. Prince Michael wore cream shorts, white trainers and a black hooded jacket on the outing while sister Paris wore a red jumper, shirt and black trousers. Jackson’s third child Prince Michael II, pictured with long black hair, green pyjamas and a dark coat.

Michael has moved back to California (staying at the Bel Air Hotel in L.A) and is looking for a new place to rent.

1989 - Michael Goes Back To School

Michael goes back to school when he visits Room 8 at the Gardner Street Elementary School in Hollywood, Los Angeles, where he attended sixth grade as a child. The school’s auditorium had been recently refurbished to dedicate in his honor, renaming it ‘The Michael Jackson Auditorium’. Michael’s former 6th grade teacher, Mrs. Gerstin, and Mrs. Rose Fine, his tutor when he was on the road with the Jackson 5, both attended the dedication.

Michael Jackson’s homecoming excited Gardner Street Elementary School pupils, who watched as the pop music superstar helped dedicate a remodeled auditorium named in his honor, symbol of then renamed Gardner Street Elementary School from Los Angeles, California.

Dressed in leather black pants and a red shirt covered in zippers, studs & buckles, and long black fingerless gloves arrived at the school Wednesday to students’ squeals of “Michael! Michael!” and was guided into the building by police officers.

After several speeches by the school superintendent, PTA representatives, teachers, pupils and parents, Michael’s former 6th grade teacher Laura Gerstin introduced Michael and presented him with “Michael Jackson Auditorium” plate – commemorative plaque: “It’s an honor to present this plaque to you on behalf of the parents and faculty, past and present, of Gardner School as a token of our respect and our love for you not only as a performer, but as a fine human being.”

Michael spoke briefly as always, and has this to say on being honored: “First of all I’d like to thank my teacher, Mrs. Gerstin, Mrs. Rose Fine, she’s another one of my teachers, she’s here also and I’d like to thank her. I am deeply touched and honored that the PTA, principal and faculty members, and students have been so kind as to dedicate the Auditorium, where I sat as a child, in my honor. We must never forget that the children are our future, and without them mankind would become extinct. I thank Mrs. Gerstin, I love you, and Ms. Rose Fine (the Jackson 5′s former tutor), I love you, and the Garden Street School associates and all the children. I love you. Thank you.”

Following the presentation of the plaque, a very happy student presented Michael with a key to the school. Michael then joined the choir in singing “We Are The World.” A small crowd then moved outside as Michael unveiled the new letters on the face of the building identifying it as the Michael Jackson Auditorium.

Following the unveiling, Michael was given a tour of his former school. He visited his old classroom and autographed the wall with a marker, “Michael Jackson Love the Children”. Epic official Lary Stesselm, Bob Jones and Bill Bray accompanied Michael.

Janique Hennessee, 11, said she was so excited to see Michael that she started crying, but Michael came up to her and dried her tears.

1979 - Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough hit #1 on the Hot 100, toppling Robert John’s Sad Eyes, giving Michael his first #1 hit since Ben in 1972. The song also gave Michael his first solo #1 – for five weeks – on the R&B singles chart.

Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough, written and composed by Michael was the album’s first single for his first solo album after leaving Motown, OFF THE WALL, released in August 1979.

The song became one of the album’s biggest hits, heralded Michael’s arrival as an adult solo performer, and paved the way for a new beginning to his musical career. It spent one week at the top of the pop charts & 5 weeks at the top of the black singles chart. A RIAA Gold Record duly followed, and in the UK the single peaked at #3 and earned Michael a Silver Disc.
Elsewhere, the single hit #1 in Australia, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa and Zimbabwe, #2 in Belgium and Holland, #3 in Canada, #5 in Finland, #10 in Ireland and Italy, and #13 in Germany (where it was the first Jackson record to chart).

Michael told Dick Clark’s National Music Survey how he wrote Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough with help from Randy.

“I was walking around the house and I just started singing, ‘da-da–da-da-da-da-da’, and said, ‘Ah, that sounds kinda nice.’ I kept singing it and gradually it came about. I went into the studio, we have a studio at home, a 24 track studio. Randy and I, I told Randy what to put down, what to play on the piano, and we did some percussion and some clapping and it turned out real funky. I played it for Quincey Jones and he loved it.”

“We had little arguments, nothing very serious, during the first record we made, which was Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough,” said Quincy Jones. “Most people at Motown didn’t sing low and I needed him to sing low. I wanted him to do a very sexy kind of sound at the bottom. At first, he was a little reluctant, but that’s okay. It was never contentious, and that’s where the trust comes in.”

Lyrical content shocked his mother, Katherine, who pointed out the title could easily be misinterpreted – Michael asserted it wasn’t a reference to sex, but that it could mean whatever people wanted it to mean.

Michael Jackson wrote and produced a single for Diana Ross called "Muscles'', 32 years ago!!! / Майкл Джексон написал и спродюссировал сингл для Дайаны Роуз, который назвал " Мускулы ", 32 года назад

On oct 16,1982 Michael Jackson wrote and produced a single for Diana Ross called "Muscles."
The single reached number #7 in Cash Box magazine and #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It climbed as high as #4 on the Billboard Soul chart. The kinky song, which was supposedly named after Jackson's pet snake, was written for Miss Ross and her "desire" for a muscle-bound lover. (I think we all know, michael was really talking about and it wasn't about his pet, but it was about his snake.)It earned the superstar diva a twelfth and latest Grammy Award nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.

1970 - The Jackson Five’s Third Album yielded their 4th #1 single I’ll Be There.

In September 1970, the Jackson 5 had sold over 10 million copies of their 3 singles I Want You Back, ABC and The Love You Save, during a period of 9 months. It was a record for a so short period, and with I’ll Be There, they are the first artists to have produced 4 singles reaching the top of the Billboard!

It was quite a change of pace from the singles that had been previously released. I’ll Be There is a touching balled with Michael and Jermaine trading lead vocals. I’ll Be There gave the Jackson Five their longest stay at #1, entering the #1 position the week of October 17, 1970 and remaining at the top of the chart for 5 weeks, replacing Neil Diamond’s Cracklin’ Rose. It also become their 4th #1 hit on the black singles chart. The Jackson Five became the 1st group ever to have their 1st four singles become #1 hits. I’ll Be There became Motown’s 3rd biggest single of all time behind Marvin Gaye’s Heard It Through the Grapevine and Lionel Richie and Diana Ross’ duet, Endless Love.
